At Girls on the Run, we inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional, and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life.

Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 165 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley was established in 2011. 

We serve the Cities of Winchester and Harrisonburg and Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren Counties in Virginia and Berkeley, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Grant, Mineral, and Morgan Counties in West Virginia.

Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley has served over 4,000 girls since our first season in the Fall of 2011. 

Seeking a community member in the Eastern Panhandle to advocate for Girls on the Run, recognizing the diversity of all communities.

 The Advisory Committee serves as the critical community champion for Girls on the Run of the Shenandoah Valley (GOTRSV). Members of the Advisory Committee share their gifts in service to our mission by:

● providing our organization with their professional expertise

● their diverse knowledge of community perspectives

● their existing connections to local and national resources, colleagues or peers

● ability to assist with events and outreach opportunities

● and their philanthropic support of our mission to never turn a girl away

● To support all counties within our council’s region (via strategic plan)
